Edo mourns as Late Enahoro’s son, Kenneth, dies at 63
The eldest son of a former Federal Commissioner for Information under former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (retd), Mr. Kenneth Enahoro has died at the age of 63.
His late father, Chief Anthony Enahoro, was a renowned politician who initiated the self-government motion in the then Western House of Assembly, which later led to Nigeria’s independence in 1960.
Kenneth was said to have died on Sunday in Benin, the Edo State capital, while his remains have since been deposited at a morgue.
It was learnt that the deceased is survived by children.
It was also learnt that his daughter was due to get married later this year.
His immediate younger, Eugene, who confirmed the development on Monday, noted that the family did not suspect any foul play.
Eugene said, “When a man passes on, you do not suspect any foul play. You do not begin to talk about whether he was sick or not. But as long he is aged, God has called him. He survived long enough to bury his own father and he survived by two children.
“The matter on ground now is his children. He has basically retired, having buried his father. But he was engaged in politics behind the scene. I, personally, am not a politician. So, I am not too much into that; his political friends will do that.”
He added, ”But it is unfortunate for the family because, since the beginning of this year, this has been the third loss we (have) had in the family.Punch
